Over the last year we have recieved many enquiries asking about whether we would consider taking babies and toddlers into our setting. After much throught we are proud to announce that as from July 2013 we will be introducing the under 2 age group to our setting.

Our setting will shortly undergo some minor space changes and introductions to ensure the space is full of exciting, engaging and stimulating equipment to support the ‘Bright Minds’ of our very early years children. We will accommodate upto 9 babies into our setting. Our staff are fully experienced and trained to meet the needs of 2′s and under. If you would like to find out more about our Baby Unit please contact the nursery or come and visit the setting on the Open Mornings and we would be happy to discuss your needs and provide you with further details.

We are looking forward to holding our ‘June Open Morning’, the children are excitedly preparing to meet new visitors and show and share all that do daily.

Our Saturday ’Open Mornings’ are a great time for Parents, Children and Grandparents to visit the setting. The morning is relaxed and a great opportunity to meet us and discuss your childcare needs. Our staff set up a number of activities for the children to join, so that you have a chance to chat knowing that your children are safe and cared for while you find out more about us and what we have to offer. If you can’t make the Saturday we welcome you on Monday and Tuesday to  take part in our daily session. See our children interact, play and learn and you are welcome to stay and join in

The children have enjoyed some great activities around the theme of Easter and we are happy that they have gone off with a spring and a hop in their toes. We hope that their return will bring some summer sun and warm weather so that we may start planting our lovely spring summer vegetables in our own little vegetable garden.

OFSTED INSPECTION – We are happy to announce our 2013 Ofsted Inspection brought some great news. The Tiffin Day Nursery was scored overall ‘Good’ with only a couple of points away from an Outstanding status. We are very pleased by the results of this inspection and we will be publishing the report shortly.

2012 saw some significant changes to the curricullum and practices set out by Ofsted for nurseries. This year sees the first of the inspections against the new practices. The bar for achieveing ‘Outstanding’ has been raised significantly so we are absolutely delighted that we were not far from achieving an ’Outstanding’ status having been open for less than 18 months and steadily growing. We are committed to improving our performance year on year and look forward to the challenges set out for us in the months ahead.

The children have really enjoyed the snow and the theme snowy weather and we have really enjoyed working with them on developing their Winter Projects and we look forward to a continuing the children’s development of all things cold!

We introduced our new pupils to The Tiffin in September and October and they have now settled in well and become part of the busy ‘Tiffin Family’.

Halloween bought some ‘scary’ surprises and we all had a fantastic SPOOKY week. The children had a lovely time dressing up, making, doing and learning all things Halloween.

November 5th arrived with a ****BANG**** where we enjoyed making our ‘Rockets’ and ‘Firework’ paintings.

We are now starting the build up to Christmas and look forward to all the fun things planned for the festive month including our children’s ‘Christmas Performance and Christmas Tea Party’.

Thank you to all those who attended the Saturday ‘Open Morning’. It was lovely to meet you. The Saturday sessions have proved popular and we look forward to introducing our new pupils in the coming months.

The pupils have seen the growth spurt of their Sunflowers which have added some lovely colour to our garden. The peas planted in March matured into delicious sweet pea pods which the children enjoyed ‘picking, popping and munching’.  Carrots have been plucked and Broadbeans have been steamed. The tomatoes have ripened slowly, but when they did, WOW delicious. Our Tiffin Kitchen cook has the beetroot eyed up for a Chocolate and Beetroot Cake and Pudding, which the children always enjoy (Me too).

It’s been lovely this month and we’ve had yet another busy time. We’ve said goodbye to our Holiday Club friends who will be starting back at school on Monday week and also said goodbye to our school starters. We’ve had a wonderful time teaching them and supporting them through their development and preparation for school and we wish them all the best and hope to see them again in the future.

Whilst we say farewell to some we have said ‘Welcome’ to other with the introduction of a number of new pupils. We hope their journey with ‘The Tiffin’ is full of fun, ideas, exploration and learning and we can’t wait to accompany them on their journey.

The Nursery recently underwent it’s first Ofsted Inspection and what a success. The report is now published and we are very pleased by the inspectors findings. The nursery has established itself quickly and feel that the positive comments show that the nursery and staff have established a strong foundation for achieving outstanding results.

Our Wellie Boots have been donned on many occassions and we have explored our every growing vegetable garden. The rain has done wonders for the children’s peas, carrots and beetroots and we look forward to pulling them up over the coming weeks and adding them to our lunches.

We have welcomed the return of our Holiday Club Friends and the start of the ACCESS Summer Holiday Club. If you are interested in ‘ACCESS’ , please click the link on the home page for more information. You don’t need to have other children at the Nursery to join us. Children can join us for a few hours in the morning,afternoon or come for a whole day, subject to places being available and can join in the great programme of activities we have on offer.

This week we have had lots of fun as Pirates. Playing games, making treasure maps followed by ‘Captain Banham’s' Treasure Hunt. The children have enjoyed singing and sailing in our indoor ‘Pirate Ship’. Our themed Lunch included ‘Scorpion Crunch’ (can you guess what it might be??) and the children have all become ‘Pirate Chefs’ making biscuits and decorating pirate cakes. Good fun had by all Aaaarrrhhhhhhh!

It was lovely to see so much interest and how fantastic to see so many little faces with so much confidence coming to the setting and enjoying all the activities and facilities available to them on the day.

It was lovely to hear all your positive commments and we are looking forward to seeing many of the little faces in the coming future.

We will be planning another Open Morning in July to prospective nursery pupils and also we will use this chance to show our facilities to potential ACCESS Holiday Club friends. ACCESS Easter Holiday Club was another successful time. The Tiffin introduced a number of new faces into the Nursery from other schools. It was lovely to see all the children getting on together and by the end of the Easter period new friends were made by all. We are looking forward to welcoming are Holiday Club visitors back for the Half Term and then the Summer Holidays. We are developing another great programme of activities for our ACCESS Summer Club and look forward to welcoming more new faces into our happy and friendly setting.
